NID and IIM-A to increase student intake

The number of students gaining admission to the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad ( IIM-A ) and the National Institute of Design ( NID ) is suppose to increase this year. The reason for the high intake of students being the implementation of the Supreme Court’s directives to implement 27% reservation for OBC students in government funded institutes. At IIM-A , the number of students admitted to its flagship course, PGP in 2009- 2010, was 310. The figure will rise to 385 in this academic year.
