201 technical and management education are unrecognized by AICTE
The Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Kapil Sibal informed the Lok Sabha recently that several private institutes in India are offering technical and management education without the necessary approval from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). According to Sibal, the number of such institutes in India is 201, among which, many are prominent educational centres.The state where the maximum number of such institutes is located are Mumbai with 74 such institutes, 24 in Delhi, 22 in Karnataka, 19 in Tamil Nadu and 13 in Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal each.
