All India Judicial Service has been put on hold

The Union Law Minister M Veerappa Moily on Sunday said the move to set up an All India Judicial Service had been put on hold due to lack of consensus. The Law Minister said that the government would hold more consultations with the state governments and the judiciary in order to create a consensus on the issue. The issue of All-India Judicial Service came up for discussions. But there was no unanimity as the various states and their High Courts have their own views…the debate will continue.
